- OK. I bought a ZIP drive on Sunday and I managed to get it setup in
- an evening. I actually had it working in 10 minutes, but because I
- didnt low level format it, just used HDToolBox and WB quick format,
- it was as slow as a floppy!! Anyway, after realising the error of
- my ways, I used GVP expert prep to low level format and prep it, and
- now the baby flies.
-
- Anyway, now that it works I am wondering why after 3 minutes of
- inactivity the drive suddenly makes a clicking noise. Only for a
- second, but very noticeable. It doesnt shut down at this point, only
- after the default 15 minutes, but is still worring me a little. Also,
- a similar clicking sound is sometimes made during copying to the
- drive and so I was wondering if this and the above mentioned problem
- is normal. Has anyone else experienced this?
-
- Any info is appreciated...
